o.v.v. Anatomie voor yoga May

Interactive anatomy based on practicality

For Yoga teachers or Yoga students

Based on the teachings of Paul Grilley

Experience, discover and understand the limitations and possibilities of your body to create a secure, personal, deep and adventurous yoga practice with endless possibilities.

Instead of a mere theoretical lecture about basic anatomy, you will in these six practical anatomy sessions interactively discover, compare and learn with the other participants everyone's anatomical possibilities and differences while doing the most common yoga poses.

You will learn:

- To analyse the most common yoga poses.

This includes learning about: the fundamental bones, the types of joints, the movement definitions and the key muscles and ligaments that get stretched and strengthened in a pose.

- To observe and see that your own physical capabilities and limitations are different from others (differences in range of motion based on ´tension - compression principle´). Which will make you understand why each one of us may need to practice yoga poses differently (form versus function).

- How to adapt and adjust the common yoga poses to your own needs or possibilities (for your own practice) and to the needs and possibilities of others so as to prevent unnecessary injuries.

- To investigate what can be the relevant therapeutical way of doing a certain pose for different bodies. This will enable you to experiment with the poses yourself and/or to give various options to your yoga students if your aim is to teach or deepen your teaching.

Each workshop contains a yoga session that consists of a combination of Yin/Vinyasa Yoga. During these sessions you will experience and try out everything you've learned during the workshops.

A unique opportunity to get to know, analyze and use your body in order to deepen your yoga practice!

Notes:

• This workshop is ideal for beginners, advanced Yogis and Yoga teachers who want to understand their body, want to explore its boundaries and want to create a personal and therapeutic practice.

• The anatomical principles apply to all yoga poses, yoga styles and other sports.
